Freeze You’re A** Off 2026 Held at the Hub Café in Heber, Utah on January 10th. Weather was cold, with temperatures starting at 12 degrees in the morning, warming to the mid-30s with sunny skies by afternoon. Attendance was strong with 32 participants. Representatives from Bonneville Flyfishers, High Country Fly Fishers, Stone Fly Society, Utah Women Fly Flyfishers, Wasatch Woman’s Fly-Fishing Club, Utah Stream Access Coalition, Heber Valley Fly Casters were there, together with a few guest participants. After a hardy breakfast and some great conversation, participants decided either to fish or return home. Those who fished choose Charlston bridge or River Road access points on the middle Provo River, a short drive from the Hub Cafe. Both locations saw limited fish activity using scud and midge imitations. Both rainbows and brown trout were caught. No hatches were reported. Thanks to all the participants and the Hub Café for supporting this annual start to the coming fishing season. - Jim Banas. |
